Mission Statement
For years, Moving Pictures Magazine
has been committed to bringing the best film news and commentary to its
readers. By hosting Moving Pictures Film Contest, we hope to forge relationships
with talented
new filmmakers, providing them with contacts and a platform to show their
work. At MPM we know that today's struggling artists are tomorrow's established
industry voices. We seek quality films that highlight the talents, stories,
hopes and dreams of up-and-coming filmmakers.
About the Contest:
Moving Pictures Film Contest is a unique
competition that provides independent filmmakers the possibility to have
their work distributed around the world and attend various film markets
for networking.
The Awards:
Moving Pictures will award a best in show for each of the following:
Shorts: (60 mins or less)
-Narrative
-Animation
-Documentary
Features (Over 60 mins)
-Narrative
-Animation
-Documentary
Category Winners of the 2008 Moving Pictures Magazine Film Contest Will
Receive:
Grand Prize Winners:
May be selected for a special screening and party hosted by Moving Pictures.
They may also have a complementary pass to attend the American Film Market
in Santa Monica, California, to meet and network with other filmmakers
and independent film distributors from all over the world!
Category Winners Will Receive:
A trophy with their name, title of their film, and category of award.
Moving Pictures Film and TV, the distribution
arm of Moving Pictures, will also consider winners for development and
distribution around the world.
Certain winners will also receive Movie Plan
film investment software, a program designed to help filmmakers take the
firsts steps in raising money for their project and professionally present
to film investors.
Certain films may be included in Moving Pictures
DVD distributed to all Moving Pictures Magazine subscribers, and will
be reviewed in Moving Pictures Magazine. DVD recipients will include members
of these prestigious, influential film industry organizations: The Academy
of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences", the Writers Guild of America
West", the Directors Guild of America", and the Screen Actors
Guild".
Your winning entry has an opportunity of being viewed by Academy Award"
winners from the past 15 years.
Winners will enjoy this one-of-a-kind opportunity to have their film seen
by the very top talent that Hollywood has to offer. Certain films may
be included in Moving Pictures DVD distributed to all Moving Pictures
Magazine subscribers, and will be reviewed in Moving Pictures Magazine.
