The
Funchal International Film Festival is held in the Island of Madeira
and the capital city of Funchal.
The Festival will explores new trends in art film: main category is
the International Official Competitive Section for 35mm fiction feature
films produced between 2007 and 2008.
Films will compete for the "FIFF Silver Caravel" award.
The 4th edition of the Funchal International Film Festival will take
place from 7 to 15 November 2008.

The Funchal International
Film Festival – Madeira Islands is now accepting submissions for
its 4rd edition.
The Festival’s main
category is the International Official Competitive Section for 35mm
features and will offer an outlook of present world cinema and explore
new trends in the art of film.
Official Competitive Section
for fiction features will compete for the “Silver Caravel”
Award.
Other awards are: Screenwriter, actress and actor, special Jury award
and Audience award.
The 4rd edition will include
a Retrospective; a Panorama informative section and “AnimArte”,
a special programme for the young audience during the mornings of the
event.
The Festival will present
a Tribute to an international guest for his/her artistic contribution
to the film industry and awarded an honorary prize.
Presentations, master classes,
workshops, exhibitions and open-air live music will be included on the
festival’s programme.
The Island of Madeira has
